Zen Art, Chinese Calligraphy.
Master Deshimaru`s, Jacques Foussadier and Sensei Mary Onari´s calligraphy.
How it all began...
Painting as a means of feeling the pleasure color
awakens in the spectator. Color is an energy and I
have always felt it. My pleasure is to combine lines
with color. Chinese calligraphy comes into my work
as a fantastic design which contributes with the refreshing splash effect of color.
In the works...
I began working in an art gallery (Toulouse Lautrec) and under the guidance of venezuela painter Omar Lopez I started to seek a theme and a medium which best suited my passion for painting. I used oil, acrilics and even industrial paint at a time.
Down the road...
In 1981 I met famous french calligrapher Jacques Foussadier and began the study of chinese calligraphy with him. For another 9 years I studied japanese calligraphy with Sensei Mary Onary, a japanese language teacher.
About me in general...
I am a buddhist monk and my art wishes to spread Buddha`s teachings. Every monk, scene, floer, animal I plant expresses a teaching about life from a Buddhist standpoint.
if you could collaborate with/meet any artist, past or present, who would it be?
With anyone interested in sharing art as a means of expressing our love for life and art.
