Hi.Thanks for the comments, your works are very nice and beautifull,Keep up the good work. Please consider visiting Namibia, one day and showcase your work at the National Art Gallery of Namibia.Your first work remaines always the best.
Natures inspires me, my work is more figurative, i see art every where, in an old wall with paint cracked, doors.. swirls, sunset, i like artists, love the work of my Pakistani artist like Gulgee and Sadiquain, not to mention Iqbal mehdi. Van gouhs sunflowers inspires me, we have art all around us in the curves of our bed covers, the tears of a crying baby, key board squares..our bodies. An Artist is a very sensitive person, their perceptions are beyond a common man.
How it all began...
My mom was an artist, i saw her painting all my life till she was alive, taking care of house and doing her art. I started painting when i had a 7 mnth girl and pregnant with another. I paint when my babies are off to School, i want to become a professional artist but i am yet to come up with something with which i am satisfied that i can show as my work.
In the works...
i am just experimenting and painting life basically, i think faces and figures inspire me more.
About me in general...
I am a very independant person, Arts is in my genes, i am just striving to make it to the art scene and i will inshAllah, right now cant do it full time, i am actually addicted to painting, i can just spend hours painting and not caring to eat and sleep.
if you could collaborate with/meet any artist, past or present, who would it be?
I wish i could be a student of our very known artist Gulgee, his sculptures, his caligraphy anything was just out of this world. He was a very down to earth and humble person. His work with lapis lazuli is breathtaking, the fact that he was self taught is an inspiration.
Thank you for your comments Shawana!
I notice you are in Karachi, I have a great friend who is a Political Painter in Pakistan, not sure if she is living in Lahore or Karachi at the moment - she spends a lot of time in London also - will find out!
Are you involved in organising exhibitions there?
Great to be in touch.
Best regards

I tried to focus once again to the kind of emotions you had while composing as well as the theme from you works, just the same impression I felt out of them. May be you are the one who could best judge of what kind of relationships you got out of the people around you. Or your passions about life.
T'ummerallam (an Urdu word I learned)
we are still a new community, so i think that people are just getting to know each other. hopefully as it grows and the artists get more comfortable, there will be more interaction. just keep talking... someone will eventually answer :)
Wow! I like all of them Shawana. There's peace, calmness and serenity in all your works. You must be a well loved and contended woman. I'm very happy for you.
