How it all began...
Using different materials and changing the ways of dealing with items is the main guide line for me.
To re-question Art is also to request my personal tools: What is really art? Can I push the boundaries of some of my ways of seeing, dealing with materials, support, and with the impact of what society and art critic considers as Art?
In the works...
In one of my last installation, titled "what's Art", the dot, first element of art, plays different and important role (putting many layers of dots creates the depth, changes the colors). The dots can also trace the frontiers and breaks it. It also becomes a cylinder, a small and a big balls, which I can put some of them in the bottle; and play with it to make sounds.
Down the road...
My running work "Chasing Beit el Oma's memories"– an interactive installation - is the second part of the trilogy " Saad Zaghloul's project", which will be followed by "The Mausoleum-what Remains".
In this project, two main concepts are discussed: time and space. Through the 1920th Egyptians magazines: El Lataef and El Mesawar and through other elements characterizing the House of the Nation's (Beyt el Ouma), where Saad Zaghloul, the leader of the revolution of 1919 in Egypt leaved and his tomb.
About me in general...
Actually, my challenge is to go further to try to exceed my initial "out-line" projects. Art is an exciting journey during it working in itself has the same importance then the result. For me, art is an adventure, a discovery and a joy. It's a way of playing and having a child soul, who never stop asking questions.
